How is organic black cumin seed oil made?
Black cumin seed oil, also known as Nigella Sativa oil, is extracted from the seeds of the Nigella Sativa plant. This plant mainly grows in Egypt, Turkey, and India, where the warm and dry climate is ideal for organic cultivation.
From cultivation to harvest
The small black seeds are hand-harvested and carefully dried to preserve their nutrients. For organic production, no synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used.
The cold-press process
The seeds are cold-pressed at low temperatures, usually below 40°C. This ensures that active compounds such as thymoquinone, omega fatty acids, and vitamin E are optimally preserved. After pressing, the oil is lightly filtered but not refined, so it retains its natural color and aroma.
From raw material to final product
The oil is dark in color and has a spicy, earthy scent. Thanks to its high purity, it is suitable for both food and cosmetic applications.
